Last Tuesday, Daniella and I had a fabulous evening at a penthouse just around the corner from Times Square. Before you get all excited, it was not a wild Project X party. It was actually a great opportunity and I am honored that I went. I found out about it through the marketing association through my school. Basically, it was a a networking event by the retail brand, Jack Wills. It was a great evening. We got to listen to representatives from Jack Wills and we heard about the journey of workers at Cosmopolitan; how they started at the bottom and got to a job that they love.
The application summer internship is due in just a few days and they had students from all over come out to the heart of Manhattan to learn a little more about the Best Summer Job in America. They call this opportunity, The Best Summer Job in America, and I think this is the perfect title for it because it actually is. You get to learn about marketing and learn the behind the scenes of running a company. It's the perfect opportunity to get a hands on experience. Here is the description straight from www.jackwills.com.....
A SUMMER JOB WHERE YOU'LL RUN EVENTS, THROW PARTIES, TRAVEL TO JW HQ IN LONDON; ALL THE WHILE LEARNING THE ROPES OF MARKETING AND RETAIL… AND GETTING PAID FOR IT! THE SEASONNAIRE ROLE IS A SUMMER LONG INTERNSHIP, BASED IN ONE OF THE COMPANY'S FIVE SEASONAL SUMMER LOCATIONS. JACK WILLS SEASONNAIRES ARE AMBASSADORS FOR THE BRAND WHO LIVE THE JACK WILLS' LIFESTYLE. THE INTERNSHIP WILL NOT ONLY INCLUDE LIVING IN ONE OF THE JACK WILLS SEASONAL LOCATIONS AND TRAVELING BETWEEN THEM, BUT ALSO TRAVELING TO THE JACK WILLS HEADQUARTERS IN LONDON FOR A WEEK TO WORK IN DIFFERENT DEPARTMENTS. WHILE IN THE UK, WINNERS WILL ALSO ATTEND THE BIGGEST JACK WILLS EVENT OF THE SUMMER, THE JW VARSITY POLO. WINNERS SHOULD EXPECT TO SPEND THEIR SUMMER HANGING OUT ON THE BEACH, SAILING AND SURFING DURING THE DAY AND HOSTING PARTIES IN TOWN AT NIGHT.
To me, that sounds like the summer of a lifetime. If it doesn't to you, I don't know what does!
XOXO,
Tatiana
