Hold on to your hats!

These past couple of weeks have been completely crazy! Between the Oscars last weekend, new NYC filming, and school it has been very hard to keep up! There have been some pretty cool stories that must be told to all of you, so hold onto your hats!

First up!
In the clever, and now always quoted, words of Susan Collins, “May the Oscar odds be ever in your favor!" The Oscars, this past Sunday, were a very special night for me and all of the fanboys of Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway. JLaw took home the little golden man for Silver Linings Playbook, one of my favorite movies of ALL time - it really inspired me as a writer and an actor.  The movie has its ups and downs, but the cast and the story have a special place in my heart...right next to Mean Girls and the cheesy-but-entertaining re-make of Footloose. As a screenwriter myself, I see a lot of the true heart and real feeling in the script and that is something that certainly deserved recognition. Along with that, I SERIOUSLY enjoyed Ben Affleck's win with Argo for Best Picture considering his “snub” as a director. Let's leave it on the note of the only thing left to say is: ArGO-F*$#%k yourself!

Secondly!
The City is frenzied with Spring around the corner, which is very exciting since all New Yorkers have been hibernating for the last 3 months. With the groundhog seeing his shadow, we know he's bringing us Spring early. Hoorah! And with the on-coming of Spring, brings of course new filming. Many new shows and movies have begun production all over the city...sprouting like dandelions in the cement.

Law and Order: Always around
Smash: Lets just sing about how excited we are to see Catherine McPhee!
Boardwalk Empire:  Steve Buschimi is awesome. Enough said.
True Story: James Franco and Jonah Hill...now that’s a party.
The Amazing Spiderman 2: It’s in full swing! A web of awesomeness!

Okay, that last pun was just stupid, but why not throw it in there?  There is a cool story that comes with The Amazing Spiderman 2, which includes me, Sally Fields, Andrew Garfield and Shaliene Woodley.  If you guys read my first post, you would know that I know how to work my way onto a movie set - and this one was quite easy to get onto. They were filming in Brooklyn and I headed out there to check it out; it was great to watch what was going on with the whole “Spiderman swinging” thing and to see how they set up all the stunts.  I hung around to watch the commotion and at about 5:30, when everyone took a break, I got to meet Sally and Andrew (I only saw Shaliene)!. They both were SO nice and great to talk to! Sally is even an Alumni of my school! I made it onto OLV's website (I felt honored, ha) I will keep you all updated so you can try to meet some of these great stars around NYC!

Third.
I got sick. That’s not something that will blow your socks off but I do know that this is the worst season for the flu, so keep that hand sanitizer on deck and NEVER touch stuff on the subway without immediately washing up (that’s a given, but I’m pretty sure that’s how I got sick). The City’s a pretty amazing....and dirty place. Try to stay healthy!

Till next time!
