The How to Guide on becoming a great NYC stalker.

Hello World! As you can tell we here at Eyes of NYC are working hard to keep this blogging thing up, and keep you all… thoroughly entertained.  So I’m just going to start out be telling you that this blog is hopefully going to serve as some sort of amazingly entertaining personal diary for us here in the Big Apple. In this column, I want it to be a "how to guide" for a new outlook of New York City from the perspective of some new comers.

As for me I’ll clue you in on some interesting stuff about myself just to so we can get to know each other here at My NYC.  So let the snuggle talk begin!

1.  Alrighty so as a part of this fantastic group I am the one most involved in the celebrities and performing arts just because that’s something I love! As a film buff, writer, actor, professional juggler and photographer, my blog spot is going to be quite artsy.

 2.  Being in the city, I get to see quite a lot of cool art, performers and films which is something I will let all of you know about before hand so that your inner “hipster” can go explore!

 3.  I am always open to questions or comments of stuff you guys may want to know about. So get to typing.

*Also I am not a professional juggler, I thought I would just include that for shits and giggles! *

Now that we have all that personal shit out of the way lets get to the important stuff! Celebrities. The most things I’ve done in this city is celebrity stalk which is sad but also really rewarding in the end! So here is your pocket guide to finding celebrities on your own.

A.   What day is it? Most filming occurs during the weekdays because lets be honest, no one wants to work the weekends even Ryan Gosling.

B.  Where am I? The five boroughs of Manhattan are bigger than you think and can be confusing at times. So when looking up filming locations make sure you know where Williamsburg is in comparison to the Bronx.

C. What kind of set is it? Website sources don’t always tell you if the set is closed (a term that is used to let you know that “normal” people or passerby’s are NOT allowed on set) or not but if you look close enough you can tell. For example the TV show Law and Order SVU is filming on W 26th and 9th Ave as compared to The Carrie Diaries which is filming “in studio” at Steiner Studios in Brooklyn. Law and Order is specific in certain streets where as The Carrie Diaries is set in a studio. It is easier to spot stars or celebs when your hanging around outside where they film. Unless you want to spend your day waiting outside a building to see anyone I suggest going to an open sets. Plus! Security is not to happy when some random people hang around outside.

D.    DO be creative and DON’T be a nuisance! Sometimes to see celebs you have to be smart. Most people on set are just doing their jobs, whether lighting, sound or actors they are all there to make the moola. So be nice and polite, most crew will help you out if you don’t bother them to much and security is great if you ask the right questions! Don’t ask to see the stars; their job is to protect them from crazies like you. Instead ask what is filming and try to make small talk. Work yourself up! Act normal and just intrigued by the movie set.

So my young pupils go out and see what you can find! My main source for all celeb hunts is a site called On Location Vacations http://www.onlocationvacations.com/category/daily-filming-locations/
They update what’s filming everyday in states all over! They are even on Twitter at OLV so you can always see what’s happening.  They even have their own tips and tricks to owning the cities film and TV world!

Also depending on what time your looking to do a little stalking, check around the Late night shows and Morning shows. These are a bit more work but they are a great way to see people! Some include: David Letterman, The Today Show, Saturday Night Live, Jimmy Fallon and many more! They all have specific ways of getting tickets that you should look up BEFORE going anywhere because most of the time it runs on a lottery system. If you have questions on how to get into these shows (even SNL!) comment below and I can tell you first hand experiences that got me the chance to see people like Joseph Gordon Levitt, Mumford and Sons, One Direction, Bill Murray, Logan Lerman and even meet cool people like Paul Rudd, Bradley Cooper, Ed Sheeran, Russell Crowe, Darren Criss, Chris Colfer, and Cher Loyd!

If you are lucky and are in the city during specific dates, also check out the website for Inside the Actors Studio at Pace University. These shows are free and open to the public and have great interviews with some huge names like Robert De Niro, George Clooney, and this month Tina Fey!! It all depends when they film so check it out! WARNING: However these tapings run for more than 3-4 hours (with potty breaks) so make sure your schedule is clear.

Enjoy these sexy tips and have fun making your friends incredibly jealous with all the pictures of you and famous people! Post a reply with any success stories and photos!! Here are just a few to show you success!!

Bobby Monihan from SNL was super funny even in person!!

Bradley took a selfie, no biggy

Ed Sheeran high fived me. Enough said.

And Paul Rudd is just awesome.

Thanks for all your support guys! Cant wait to hear your amazing adventure stories!

Till next time...
